Why Aftermath?

Aftermath Inc's Cleanup Service

  • Not All Cleaning Companies Are Created Equal
  • Our biohazard cleanup procedures require trained professionals to recover body fluids such as blood and other potentially infectious materials. For the safety of Aftermath employees and the safety of others, we strictly adhere to all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations. Pursuant to OSHA regulations, supervisors and technicians are required to have the following: blood borne pathogen ("BBP") certification; personal protective equipment ("PPE") training; current Hepatitis B vaccinations; bloodborne pathogen exposure control training; hazardous communication training; and respiratory training. Aftermath supervisors and technicians also follow best-practice standards, including the "Aftermath Way"®.
  • Speak to a Live, Trained Expert
  • When you call our National Dispatch Center (888-933-3955), whether for crime scene cleanup or any other type of biohazard cleanup, you will reach a live expert--not a machine. Real people respond 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. Your call will be immediately directed to the appropriate area manager. Our staff will ensure quick response during these difficult times. You deserve the respect to speak with real people.
  • Cheaper Isn't Always Better
  • Cutting corners by performing quick cosmetic fixes and not following all federal, state, and local laws will always cost less. Cutting corners can result in the return of dangerous biological colonies, which may lead to further damage or the potential of a lawsuit if an exposure incident occurs. Aftermath does not cut corners. We use industry-specific, specially formulated chemicals and follow all federal, state, local laws, in addition to best-practice standards and the "Aftermath Way"®. Additionally, Aftermath provides a Certificate of Treatment upon completion of our recommended services, which may be required by insurance or mortgage companies.
For those in search of a biohazard restoration company, or those who refer this service to members of their community, use the following checklist as a guideline to determine whether or not the company meets the necessary minimum requirements.
  • Critical Incident Stress (C.I.S.) or Critical Incident Stress Syndrome (C.I.S.S.)
  • Critical Incident Stress (C.I.S.) or Critical Incident Stress Syndrome (C.I.S.S.) occurs after the experience of a traumatic or critical event, and can cause strong emotional and physical reactions following the critical incident. The emotional and physical reactions can be debilitating for some individuals, and can cause an inability to function at work or at home. It has been shown that excessive exposure may increase the likelihood and/or severity of C.I.S. Aftermath is there to remove the physical evidence of the traumatic event and help lessen the increased risks associated with C.I.S. caused by excessive exposure. Additionally, Aftermath has partnered with the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) to help families find the emotional support they need after experiencing the loss of a loved one.
  • What to Look for in a Crime and Trauma Scene clean up Company
  • Over the last 15 years Aftermath has specialized in biohazard restoration, including crime scene cleanup. We have encountered many companies that claim to specialize in this type of work. Many do not fulfill even the minimum legal requirements dictated by OSHA, DOT, and the EPA. Additionally, oftentimes businesses that don't specialize in biohazard restoration don't carry appropriate levels of insurance. When a company is performing work that is not covered under their policy, the liability falls on the business, family or whoever hires them. This leaves the customer open for potential lawsuits if an exposure incident occurs.
If you are in need of a biohazard restoration company these are some of the minimum requirements you should expect from a professional biohazard restoration firm:

The Aftermath Way

Doing Business the Right Way...

  • The Aftermath Way
  • The "Aftermath Way" is more than a cleaning regimen. It is a mindset that is instilled in all of our employees that our customers deserve to receive the highest quality crime scene cleaning service while being treated with dignity and respect. We respect our customer's privacy by using discreetly marked vehicles and by maintaining confidentiality. We will help families and businesses work with insurance companies. We document the work we perform in reports that insurance companies may request. We can help set claims whenever possible, and we will work directly with insurance companies. Our customers are often overwhelmed; we will assume any burdens we can to help the family start on the road to recovery.
The "Aftermath Way". . . . The beginning of the recovery, not the end of a tragedy.

  • Personal Tragedy
  • Being an industry leader means we deal with traumatic situations every day. We see how families and friends are quickly overwhelmed by a whirlwind of burden. Our hearts go out to those that are suffering from the emotional trauma of a loss. Our crime scene cleaning service knows that we can help remove at least one of those burdens; the physical evidence of the aftermath. Times as difficult as these are best left to experienced professionals. We understand there is more to this service than just biohazard cleanup, which remediates the situation to make the scene safe for tradesmen to complete the restoration. For this reason, Aftermath has partnered with the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) to help families find the emotional support they need after experiencing the loss of a loved one. We will also work with insurance companies directly to help find financial relief when many may not realize that coverage may be available.
  • Aftermath: Not Just a Name
  • Our partnership with the National Organization for Victim Assistance is a direct reflection of our awareness of the emotional aspect of our job. We want to do more than offer blood cleanup services, we want to be able to help our customers who are suffering emotionally. Biohazard cleanup is our only business and we pride ourselves on being the best in the business. For this reason, law enforcement, county coroners, first responders, medical examiners, funeral directors, and many other professionals across the country recommend Aftermath with the confidence that we will provide the highest quality of service. In addition, Aftermath is endorsed or recognized by IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) and SCRT (Society of Cleaning and Restoration Technicians).

  • Our mission statement summarizes our goal:
  • Aftermath is dedicated to easing emotional trauma at a time when it matters most by offering death cleanup services to families and businesses. Aftermath is devoted to continuously improving our services, making us a nationwide industry leader; focused on providing professional, honest, and reasonably priced services. In any situation we encounter, we strive to take as many burdens off the family as we possibly can. We will take the time to look over your insurance policy and submit a claim on your behalf and continue to follow up on any claim we set. We also provide victims assistance through our organization Aftermath Cares. Through our crime scene cleaning service, we strive to help every family we serve in every way we can, even after restoration is complete.

Aftermath strives for excellence in each and every bio hazard cleanup job we perform. Our pledge reflects our dedication, safety, and responsibility to ourselves, our employees, the families we serve. We pledge the rapid response of our highly trained, properly insured, experienced technicians, and a job done right the first time. We also pledge:
  • Customer Service
  • We continually strive to ensure that our interaction with our customers reflect our concern and respect for the sensitive nature of relationship. We believe that quality communication, professional attitudes and a commitment to excellence are ingredient that produce positive results and satisfied customers. We are a team that works together to achieve common goals all centered on the focus of delivering outstanding customer service. Our ultimate success is often determined by the clients who are pleased with the services provided, our professionalism, meaningful communication and expediency in handling their individual files.

  • Rapid Response
  • Our typical response time is within 1-3 hours of a call. We will give you a time frame within which to expect us, and will keep you abreast of any schedule changes. Please keep in mind that we may be responding to another family's needs at the time of your call. They deserve the same level of respect that we will give to you. When we receive your call, we work to dispatch a crew immediately. We aim to provide the quickest service, but will also work with you to schedule a time that will work best for you.

  • Trained Response
  • Aftermath will only send Aftermath trained and certified personnel. Beware of crime scene clean up brokers that work for a commission for referring jobs to other companies. We do not refer our work out, and do not use any outside labor. All of the crews we send to your location are certified, trained Aftermath technicians. We work hard to train our technicians and continue their biohazard cleanup and remediation education by requiring them to participate in the International Bio Remediation Academy (IBRA) bio hazard courses.

  • Properly Insured
  • While each state has different requirements, Aftermath possesses the highest level of insurance required to provide biohazard and crime scene clean up. Beware of companies that are not insured, and have not been properly licensed to perform this type of work. Many companies will try to get away without proper insurance, and without even using a certified company to dispose of their bio hazardous waste.

  • Follow up Customer Service
  • During our follow up care calls we make sure the customer is satisfied with the work we just performed. We answer any questions or concerns they may have regarding the work we just performed. We help them find a restoration company for any additional repairs. Aftermath partners with hundreds of national leaders nationwide. We also Contact the insurance company or agent to notify them of the situation that happened at the insured's home. Aftermath Inc Supplies the insurance company with all our detailed documents, instead of having the customer have to do this. we also supply the letter and invoice to the family so that way they know this has been taken care of on their behalf and they don't have to worry about taking that extra step. Similar to the way a medical center would bill for it's service.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • The Legal and Compliance Department was established at Aftermath, Inc. for the purpose of meeting Aftermath's directive to ensure our services are both of the highest quality and also safe for our customers and their property, our employees and the environment. Given the risks associated with blood and biological matter from both a safety/wellness and environmental protection, the biohazard remediation industry is highly regulated by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and state environmental agencies. In addition, the Center for Disease Control (CDC)and National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) have published extensive guidance and protocols implement these regulations, all of which are designed to ensure the safety of our employees and those entering the premises after we have completed our services.

  • Experience
  • With over 15 years of experience and nationwide coverage, we have the experience level needed to remediate every biological remediation situation. Our resources are dedicated to biological (blood and body fluids) remediation. Our only focus is crime scene clean up and biohazard remediation, which allows us to dedicate our experience to the specialty of blood cleanup, blood and body fluid recovery, hoarding and clutter removal, and tear gas remediation.

  • Dedicated Business
  • Biohazard remediation is the only type of service Aftermath performs. Beware of companies whose principal business is anything other than biohazard remediation, i.e., fire, mold, and water restoration, carpet cleaning, and business/residential cleaning. These low-cost providers often perform very little to no biological recovery work, and send inexperienced personnel with little or no training. These services often become a disservice when the customer realizes that the site has not been properly remediated.

  • Staff to Assist
  • Aftermath's Claims Department can help families establish an insurance claim. We work directly with insurance whenever possible, supplying the necessary documentation to speed up the process. Additionally, our in-house legal counsel can assist with estate issues. Aftermath is also ready to assist families and businesses during difficult times by arranging counseling services or any reconstruction that may be needed through the Aftermath Partnership Network.
